the best time for standard sales (the ones they dont name after holidays or business cycles) is spring.

Late winter and early spring are a retail deadzone.

these two times are full of lesser known deals and clearance sales. Early summer is 3rd on the list for its left over stock, hard to find tho

tvs, laptops, and small appliances update about every year. i recommend year old models or 2 year old models if you want a clearance price

large appliances take 2-3 years to hit a good deal. more if they're expensive.

side topic: if you're really trying to save money for any reason, focus on release cycles.

when a tv is a model behind, it will be cheaper. when its almost 2 models behind, it gets severely discounted to push old product out.

the same happens for most electronics.

anytime thats not the case, it's almost always a product they have been having issues selling, or recently became severely outclassed by a similar product.

its never worth hurting someone over a sale, but the fact such a scam has caused pain and suffering is abysmal.

if you analyze a discounted black friday products price changes throughout the year, it usually spends most of the year at that price OR LOWER.

its illegal to up the prices and then drop them (US), so companies simply change the sticker price and instead run sales on periodic intervals year round.
