I moved, and my body feels broken. But I have never been more content or happy with my home in all of my 51 years. I won’t have some furniture until October, but the amount of pure joy I have every minute living here is unmatched to any other place I have lived. Feeling blessed and grateful.

I watched the Dallas Cowboys documentary this weekend, and can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I enjoyed the hell out of it. I’m a life long 49ers fan! Doc was so well done and so interesting. The 90s were awesome. Emmett Smith still looking goooooood. 😉 That man has the best smile.

Been going to the same hair stylist for over 15 years. Funny how now we always end up discussing our newest physical ailments. Fluid retention has been the hot topic the last 3 months.

Today was probably my last “event” 5k. My friends and I all said the same thing: we’re done getting up at 6am for these things. Frankly, I’m done having to get out of bed before 7:45 unless there’s an emergency or I’m traveling.

I used to thrive in 100+ degree weather. Now I would not be showing up for my 5k in the morning if this heat wasn’t letting up tonight. Walking 6 blocks today to pick up my registration packet wiped me out.

At least of all weekends to get a stomach bug it happened when it’s 105 degrees out and I had no plans but to stay inside. But this is still miserable. Haven’t had anything like this in ages.

It is so weird to be in this season of life where I know my career is winding down even though I have been at this for 33 years. I’m “wrapping up” things or making sure things are put in place to last for several years after I retire. It is just the oddest feeling.

I saw The Accountant 2 today and I hate to admit it but I found it very entertaining.

I find the Substack platform annoying. I’ve followed people from their original blogger blog, then to their website, then to their email list, then their podcast, and now they’re solely on Substack. I can’t do it anymore. Where are they all going to go next?

Some use so much laundry detergent the next time they could probably run their clothes through the wash w/out any soap using the residual left from the last time.

And all the years I’ve been doing this & watching others there, people are using WAY too much laundry detergent. Be better off buying a more expensive high quality soap and using about a tablespoon spoon of it in a regular size load.

My personal life hack - I take all my bedding (mattress pad inc) to a laundromat to wash and dry all of it in 1.5 hrs instead of spending all day doing it at home.

2 wks with the Oura ring 4 and I love it. I hated wearing an Apple Watch. I have a beautiful watch collection & I like wearing them. I also don’t want any iPhone notifications, accessibility... The ring so far is really meeting my needs and the data is interesting.

This complete rewatch of SATC has me in a full choke hold. Been staying up way too late every night. I’m enjoying it so much. Starting season 4 tonight.

Now that White Lotus is finished I think I’m going to give The Pitt a try. I only have time for one new show at a time and I’m still making my way through a full rewatch of SATC. Which I’m absolutely loving. So many things make more sense watching it at 51 vs 24.

I don’t even know who Morgan Wallen is aside from learning he is a singer. Am I officially old?
