I don’t think I’m a particularly resentful person, but I can remember who did and didn’t reach out when I lost my mother, my father, or my best friend.

When a friend loses a loved one, acknowledge it and support them in concrete ways. Send a condolence card. Make then food. Have them over for dinner. Send them a gift card. Help them with arrangements. Don’t just say “let me know if you need anything.”
