Over 60,000 malnourished children in South Sudan have gone without aid for more than a month. Supplies will run out at the end of May. Fighting has made aid deliveries nearly impossible.

Seniors Are More Conservative Because the Poor Die Off Sometimes older voters aren’t just naturally more conservative. It’s just that wealthier and whiter people tend to live longer and healthier lives.

Hey, just a quiet reminder: it’s not true that people get more conservative as they age. *Populations* get more conservative as they age because poor and marginalized people die sooner.

Study finds strongest evidence yet that shingles vaccine helps cut dementia risk Older adults in Wales who had the jab were 20% less likely to be diagnosed with dementia that those not vaccinated

goddd the number of things that turn out to be caused (at least partly) by infectious, vaccinatable diseases. apparently some dementia is actually "long chickenpox"?

We should minimise all research and teaching collaboration with the US. Academia is based on free speech and discussing ideas we don't agree with, if we can't enter the US because of private messages we have no business going there
