Pearl Harbor, 2025 So far there is no Pearl Harbor remembrance address from the White House (At least not from any of the sources I read). Maybe because Sec. Day Drinking Pete Hic(!)seth is too busy offending allies …

Pearl Harbor.

Based on the reaction to this, I feel like some people want the administration to bail out the AI industry because it would confirm their biases, or have become so beaten down they refuse to think clearly. Maybe it's just easier to be a doomer? I dunno.

my great-grandparents arrived in the UK in the 1890s with nothing.
they sold pickles from the front room window, took in laundry, worked as tailors.
their children were nurses, teachers, salesmen.
their grandchildren were professors, designers, opticians, doctors, magistrates, entrepreneurs.

No expert on this but citizenship for "natural born citizens born abroad" was until fairly recently much fuzzier than birthright citizenship. I know this because i am one and was surprised when i researched it (my memory is also fuzzy so will not assert specific details)

Senator chris murphy tweet

In the first week, Trump removed 7,300 people. On average, Biden was removing 15,000 a week.

Under Biden 72% of ICE arrests were criminals. Under Trump it's dropped to around 50%.

Trump is removing less people and less criminals. These guys are terrible at everything.

She's not exactly dispelling the idea she was a political actor when she led the EHRC.

Public bodies are crammed with cranks and wingnuts because politics is rammed with cranks and wingnuts, and this isn’t seen as remarkable and disgraceful because sadly the press is also full to bursting with cranks and wingnuts.

Apart from anything else, this really embodies the Playmobil approach to workforces that politicians often fall into β€” it’s all very well and good to laud β€œfrontline” NHS workers but without backroom staff the entire service would actually collapse.
