Today in #DraculaDaily Lucy returns a letter to Mina.
The vast majority of the letter is just about how great of a man this doctor fellow is.
I think Lucy might like him some.

Today in #DraculaDaily Mina sends a letter to Lucy.
She talks of an upcoming visitor and a rumor of a handsome man in Lucy's life. The gossip will be so much fun!

She is also looking forward to her dear Johnny returning in about a week. I'm sure he'll be there on time...

First time reading #DraculaDaily, have never even watched anything related to the book either. So all I know is that Dracula is a vampire. Let’s see how this develops. For now, Jonathan Harker seems to not know what self preservation is and doesn’t care to find out.

Today in #DraculaDaily is when Johnathan starts to realize that he is in fact not safe.
We also learn of the Counts aversion to mirrors and rosaries.
Also he knows much of the bloody history of the area, so much that when he talks about it he almost sounds as if he had lived through it.

The fun answer is that Dracula picks up new skills and learns new concepts almost frighteningly fast, so it doesn't seem weird to me that he would learn how to cook just to mess some more with his mortal visitor.
Boring answer is that he was human once and probably knew how to cook from back then.

7th of may in #DraculaDaily brings us one of my favourite little details of the book
"I have taken with my kodak views of it"!
It's a handheld camera!
We often forget when various pieces of technology were actually introduced to people, and having a camera in the 1890s almost seems out of place.

Gonna save you some time.

I remember that video:

I think that's how it went.

Someone told them they should play low volume, and they heard it as play Low at volume.

Today in #DraculaDaily we return to Harkers Food Blog!
We get introduced to robber steak. Meat and onions with a stake through them.
Surely there's no subtext here.
After a midnight ride through the landscape we arrive at The Castle.
The Count seems very hospitable and helpful.
We dine on chicken.

Today in #DraculaDaily Mr Harker is accosted by superstitious locals, and given a crucifix.
An altogether unsettling event.
I hope tomorrow brings some good food, or interesting historical monuments.

I can't wait to see what recipes he finds in his travels.
I'm sure it'll be great.

It's that time of year again! Johnathan Harker has started writing his travel journal.

In his first entry he sampled paprika hendl, a chicken soup with red pepper, mamaliga, a maize flour porridge, and impletata, which is eggplant stuffed with meat.
