Preventing peaceful protests from being hijacked by people engaging in violence (Reposting this from my earlier blog post published August 31, 2020)

Agents provocateurs are nothing new at nonviolent protests.

Everyone in the crowd needs to keep watch for them.
But DO NOT engage.
Instead, report them to the event’s organizers.
And if possible to do safely, get video of their disruptive actions.

Nonviolent protests are FAR more likely to succeed.
And will result in fewer casualties.
Not zero casualties though
and there’s the rub:
During the Civil Rights protests, cops looked like the bad guys because people like John Lewis didn’t fight back even when his skull was fractured by a nightstick.
