I uninstalled that disaster and spun up my containers using the docker CLI and now my containers run much faster because my machine is not running out of ram.

One of the many examples: to run Docker Desktop on Linux, it spins up a freaking virtual machine « to ensure a consistent experience with other OSs ». And that VM was eating 13 gigs of ram on my machine. That’s just to run the desktop app. What the fuck

I’m finally getting a grip on my love/hate relationship with Docker. Docker itself is absolutely brilliant. But being a noob, I was using it through Docker Desktop, and I think it’s one of the worst applications I’ve ever used in my life.
