they're real cheap used, I got mine for 25 bucks on woot a while back and I'm sure it'll serve me for years

yeah it's definitely better (and more portable) than a regular tablet, the backlight is also nice. you're initially locked into amazon's bs ecosystem but it's easy enough to jailbreak it for your own purposes

I especially feel it when I'm taking using my own rangefinder (a minolta himatic F), for whatever reason I remember a particular scene in a picture more vividly in my head when I see pictures that I had an active hand in taking.

I know it's not really financially smart, but I wish more camera companies built affordable rangefinder cameras.

I get that with autofocus it seems pointless, but just making a conscious decision to set something in some way instead of a computer doing it for you feels super rewarding to me.
