Oh, and updating your project from Tailwind v3 to v4, the update command will migrate your JSON Tailwind config from tailwing.config.ts to your main CSS file!

I didn't know that I had vite@4.0.4 installed globally, so running 'vite dev' failed in my test project.

If you have an outdated vite, update it, or run using 'npm run dev' instead of 'vite dev'

I know it's pretty basic, but perhaps this saves somebody else the time I spent monkeying around 😁

Testing TailwindCSS 4.0.
Pretty cool, so far!

Some caveats:
- It requires Vite 5.2.0 (will fail with prior versions)
- If using vite@latest (v6) will need to force deps using --legacy-peer-deps

It was a bug with Vite 5, that required it to add rollup in optionalDependencies

Next: it should identify the GIF with its meme name, if any.

It was react-markdown!

npm ls <name of the lib> helps see who invited who to this party.

Did I need react-markdown? I wanted to parse markdown into HTML, but it was completely unnecessary.

Moral of the story: Do not add nice-to-haves until the need-to-haves work!

The build fails because it cannot resolve an import of "#minpath" from .../node_modules/vfile/...

Crap. Debugging these things takes precious time. Especially because vfile is not a direct import. Now I have to track down who did this (probably, Vite, but who knows? 😁)

Vite Install and configure Vite.

Solved! The solution was not in Vite docs, but in shadcn/ui docs ui.shadcn.com/docs/install...

Path aliases need to be added 3 times:
- tsconfig.json
- vite.config.ts (manually or using vite-tsconfig-paths)
- tsconfig.app.json <-- MISSED THIS

Vite was importing ok but TS did not see the imports.

The issue is with a few TS configs that somehow don't work as documented.

After using Next.js for a very long time, going back to Vite and wasting time with problematic Typescript config stuff that should just work but doesn’t is like… I’m too old for this sh*t.
