There's never a time of day, year, or time, or a state of the weather, when Another Place isn't utterly captivating.

Yes. First one is Case Histories. It's always tricky recommending things, but I'd say it's definitely worth a go.

Have you tried Kate Atkinson's Jackson Brodie books? I started my first one last Wednesday and I think it's terrific. Similar in some ways to Rebus, and a nice balance of dark and light.

I did okay, but I'm annoyed I didn't get Bren gun and I must say I've never thought of Douglas Adams as a sci-fi writer.

Both, but, if I had to choose one, There She Goes. Written and sung by an Evertonian, a band from the city, a more oblique lyric than I Guess...Play it after Z Cars, when the team's on the pitch.

Anyone can be a hero. I used to have a Geoff Nulty abdge for pity's sake! But legend should be reserved for someone very special. Calling Ian Snodin a legend drives me barmy. And then when someone is called a former legend, as if they were once a legend, but have somehow lost that status!
