Arguably the greatest western ever, an all star cast, Val Kilmer at his absolute best, fantastic dialogue, incredible cinematography and possibly the most accurate portrayal of the west and the legendary gunfight at the ok corral.

4: Aliens

James Cameron shows how you make a sequel better than an original, with a claustrophobic feel as the tension builds and the action comes quick and sudden. James Horner cannibalised the scores from several previous films to make a soundtrack that adds to the tension & delivers the action.

3: The Rock

This film is perfect, the casting, the cinematography, the script, the music… it is a masterclass of how to do an action film and Ed Harris’ complex anti villain just adds to the layers.

2: Jaws

The original summer blockbuster that made millions afraid to go into the water, endlessly quotable & also one of the most famous soundtracks in cinematic history.

Not every alien visitation has to be hostile, the film is enchanting & terrifying plus THAT soundtrack!!

The music in RRR was fantastic!!

The other thing to help will be the dreaded exercise, that doesn’t mean hitting the gym though. Home workouts will do it, can even get yourself a little flat treadmill that will literally sit under your chair and get those steps in. Lots you can do that will help you.

Weight loss is easy and it’s hard, it’ll be a journey for you but everyone including myself will cheer you on. The app that was mentioned earlier was a good one, I just use the Fitbit app for calorie counting but I work to a deficit (more out than in).

Always wore one when I had to go out during the pandemic and at my old work place, amazing went over a year without catching a cold or bug (imagine that) and never caught Covid.

It wasn’t cut because he never died, you hear him wounded & Lennox calling for a medic before the scene shifts to a montage of them being evac’d & loaded on a gurney into a helicopter. Story was Amaury Nolasco was supposed to have been back for either DOTM or AoE but dropped out due to scheduling.

I hated it, thought it was awful. I did enjoy the RoboCop remake though 🫢

This gif just gives me instance goosebumps… from a time before CGI, the amazing aerial choreography and score of this scene forever makes me smile. The film that gave me a love of cinema and history will forever be no1 in my heart!!
