i had saved up 20k after working as a full time academic librarian for over 10 years, and i STILL had to ask my parents for help with the down payment on my house. it's out of reach for the majority of people at this point, i think (including me if i were to try to buy into the market right now.)

lol this was totally my experience with CUNY SPS. i will never stop being infuriated about it. if i ever do get around to getting a phd it will be entirely fueled by spite generated by taking exactly 2 classes in the SPS undergraduate psychology dept.

My brother and I are both extremely good at math and science and I watched all of society push him into engineering school and me into the humanities. It turned out ok for me but I’m still frustrated and mad about it, especially now that I know my true calling is to study neuroscience.

I am *so* happy I live in a neighborhood where I feel safe enough to not need one of these cameras because these cameras have never felt safe to me
