This is the only book I've read that actually made me cry. Even on the second reading.

The Matlaske reliquary pendant. This is the sort of β€˜device’ Margaret Paston may have worn and it was found around 3km from her first marital home in Gresham. Now on display in the Gallery of Medieval Life in the Norwich Cathedral Museum. I saw it properly for the first time yesterday.

Currently reading A History of the World in 47 Borders - Jonn Ellege. Fascinating look at how areas of land have been divied up, why, and by whom.

Livewired - David Eagleman. An insight into what's currently known about how the brain works. And how much we still don't know.

There were also some people who saw brown and beige.

(It's all to do with the lighting in the original photo whether the brain thought it was in natural or artificial light)

I have it ready to throw myself in, but thought I'd get the overview from the BL exhibition and then focus on the detail around Margaret.
Also, I should be focusing on my own writing before I start researching something new πŸ˜‚

I gave up on art in Infant's School when my teacher told me I'd drawn a lovely squirrel.

It was a chicken.

Had such a fantastic day with the lovely Gemma Tizzard celebrating the launch of Grace of the Empire State, her brilliant debut love story set in depression-era New York, that I missed to take more photos - but this one sums it all up! Go and get your copy now!

I've swept the kitchen floor, cleaned the worktops, brought in some firewood and am now editing scene in my rom com where a llama breaks free and creates mayhem at a medieval fair. No art/life immitation here!

The BBC Good Food Easy Chocolate Fudge Cake is my go to recipe, but with chocolate ganache rather than icing. And I use black cherry compote as the filling to give it a bit of tartness 😁

Looking forward to my debut novel being published in 2024 courtesy of Seasiders' Write.
A Rom Com set in Peggleford, a small Norfolk seaside village that is anything but sleepy.
When Ellie inherits Dunes Cottage, it's not the picturesque hideaway she was anticipating. Or the life she had planned.
