Drawing traffic up Leith Walk, around the gyratory was never a good idea. If @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social had been serious about reducing traffic & enhancing public space, a Y-type junction with pedestrianized space in front of St Mary's Cathedral (no sorry, not the Omni) would have been best.

What's going to happen when the Playhouse opens up? Even during a normal busy day surely there isn't enough room for people to get through unhindered. The bike track is likely to get swamped!

Not aware of Forrest making new application since consent expired this spring.

Aggressive advertising along roads can distract drivers so I think this is also a safety issue. The antiquated planning system here doesn't seem able to deal with this. Obviously these signs can be a lot brighter than they used to be — similar to the busker amplification issue.

I was surprised to see it. Is it new? Is there a story there? What kind of past enforcement was involved? Was it originally brighter? Personally I think it idegrades the environment but there are other issues.
