Alastor tries SO hard to sneak that spice in, but Vox detects it every time like a fucking bloodhound and it irks Alastor to no end. It’s not like the jambalaya won’t taste good without it, but it’s what makes an excellent jambalaya into an exemplary one

Compromise: Vox is obsessed with Al’s cooking. However, there is this ONE spice that Al likes and occasionally puts in his jambalaya that Vox will refuse to eat if it’s put in it

We were also playfully dabbling with the idea of (1) Al trying to get Baxter to hack Vox’s memories back to him and/or (2) Al giving Vox his memories back a-la a kiss like what happened in WALL-E (in that one, Vox also remembers everything Al did to get his memories back)

So, we were playing with the idea more from a comedy-heavy dramedy angle. In it, the Vees realize that (like in your comic) an obsessed Vox is a Vox that is honestly kinder and better to them. They team up with Al to help Vox remember him again, but every effort fails in increasingly comedic ways.

I need you to know that this comic has fired off mine and my friend’s imagination as we’ve been playing with this plot bunny like kids with a box!
