So this Perrin arc is matching the arc where he's leading a bunch of guys around the Two Rivers killing trollocs in book Four.
I kinda prefer this? Although yet another woman was Fridged for his progression, it's kinda more impactful this way? Also shorter to match the shows pace.

Since posting I've come to realise the actual issue i have is her comparative lack of development when contrasted against the importance the story places on her.
I'm betting the show will improve on her story, assuming they get more seasons after this one.

Probably contentious but I never really liked Aviendha in the books, and I'm incredibly ambivalent about her in the show. I think maybe my issue with her in the books is that she felt like she didn't have enough character behind her?

Is this the first time The Flame and the Void has been mentioned in the show? Kinda makes sense if so as I can't imagine another scenario when it would make sense to discuss.

Today in our call of cthulhu game a play character was mauled by a dozen raccoons after he got kicked out of a library when his dog (dyed to look like a lion) pissed on a bunch of books

The obvious example is when Mat and Nynaeve are talking and Galad interjects. Nynaeve tells him straight up that she doesn't need his help and he flatly ignores her. I'm sure I'm missing the vocabulary to describe this type of misogyny appropriately, and I'm sure that it was missed by some.

Wheel of Time spoilers.

I'm really liking Galad's interpretation. He reads as being extremely noble and good, as his book counterpart was, but there's a somewhat subtle undercurrent of misogyny in the way he acts. Maybe foreshadowing his eventual joining the Children later on?

Yeah I honestly think that the beats I wrote off as confusing or ill thought out were the symptoms of season 2 being the equivalent of the middle book in a series. All of the setup, none of the payoff.

Still mad about perrin axing Bornhald but I'm more willing to see where it goes now.

Book Elaida had all the setup in the world but just wound up a shallow punching bag. Really hope they don't drop the ball with her.

You just know that Lanfear went off and hit her head against a wall repeatedly for having shown even a single iota of weakness before the children.

Lanfear is actually the best part of the show imo. Natasha O'Keeffe steals the spotlight in every scene she's in.

When Lan and Moiraine tell Lanfear about the Grey Man, the look of primal fear in her eyes is phenomenal.

That being said I'm now more interested in where they'll take his story with this than I was at the end of s2.
Giving Dain more of a focus as a character and cutting Padan Fain out of his story is a solid idea, I think. It has the makings of a way more interesting character.

Wheel of time season 2 spoilers

Them finally having a clear and obvious vision for what's going on with Mat and Perrin is so refreshing after watching them spin their wheels doing god knows what in S2.

I am still slightly mad about Perrin Axing Bornhald a question in the finale though.

I fell off the Wheel of time tv series pretty hard at the end of Season 2. I really didn't think they had any clue what they were doing.

I've finished the first 3 eps of S3 and I'm SO back. I can see where they were going and what they were trying ot set up in S2 now.

New event quest for Monster Hunter Wilds is kinda mid, imo. The spheres aren't even really worth the (admittedly short) time investment.

All in all I'm super fucking impressed by not only Call of Cthulhu but my gm, who is a brilliant story teller.

Also it felt good to pick Photographer arbitrarily and have all the skills that came with it be pretty reasonably useful.

There's also the extremely engaging roleplaying concept of trying to wrap my head around roleplaying someone who truly believes they live in the real world and has no concept of the horrors behind the veil.

I understand there's cosmic fuckery going on, but my character doesn't.

Like do I actually _want_ to understand what I am seeing? Do I want to know more about the situation my character finds himself in? Do I want to comprehend the horrors?

The answer is not only No, but FUCK no. But I already committed to my action and now I'm rolling the dice and peeping the horror.

My monday TTRPG group is playing Call of Cthulhu and I am incredibly impressed by what it's doing to my perception of dice rolling.

Usually you wanna succeed on your dice rolls, because that means you're succeeding the test. But in CoC there have been multiple times I've dreaded succeeding.

Thinking about just popping my lobby code up on stream for anyone to join in on when I play Monster Hunter Wilds tomorrow. I'm not to fond of public lobbies, but a lobby that viewers and friends can jump in on sounds pretty good to me.

Christ Twitch is crap at this. Can't get a text from them to save my life. I just wanna finish the affiliate sign up, man.

Kinda pissed off about my groups last session of Barotrauma. The gameplay was awesome (As always) but the recording I made was completely broken. No audio on any tracks, garbage visuals. I was really looking forward to making videos out of it, too.

You're going to love it, I think. It's an absolute banger.

Oh I've made a massive mistake.
I didn't think about how big this file was going to be when I started recording Barotrauma at the start of our session today.
Nor did I think about how much of a pain in the ass it's going to be to edit.
