But maybe I'm just a bit little bitch reading into things wrong. Whenever I GMed or officered, I always felt the onus was on me to put out the platter for the guild. Not for my own enjoyment, although DMing is enjoyment in itself.

"our numbers will look great!" But more, the GM has a great story for themselves, or their main interest (side guilds, whatever), and you're just sort of there to play a bit part of a story firmly on tracks.

I see an issue with some guilds where the plot really only exists for the GM. Like you are there to flesh out some grand cinema, essentially guild members are NPCs. Not even house style 1/
