My controversial writing opinion is that fiction writers should be less concerned with what's realistic and more concerned with what would be really cool.

my hottest take that's just asking for trouble is everything becoming the same monotonous generic type of stylized is just as boring as everything going for hyper realism. how stylized or realistic a game or movie is does not determine quality. having solid art direction and a vision does.
