Alex used Chien Pao's Sword of Ruin ability to lower the defences of Raghav's Pokémon just enough so that Choice Band Tera Ghost Dragapult was getting OHKOs onto everything it hit.

So for the first time, an EU region player takes the NAIC title!

With the threat of Gastrodon, Gabriel felt Kyogre was not bringable. So with 1 less Restricted to deal with, James was able to trade his Calyrex for Zacian, allowing dynamax Groudon to shine bright in the 2 game set and claim the championship title.

Wolfe used an innovative Assault Vest Rayquaza set to take down this scary Medicham team. The Strong Winds, Wide Guard, and his Pokémon's bulk were able to sponge up Kyogre's attacks, stall Lunala's tailwind, and take the set in a convincing 2 games.

Jeremy demonstrated the power of immediate offense in this final. Psychic terrain boosted Zen Headbutts from Mega Metagross, Rotom's Electrium-Z, and Life Orb Tapu Lele were too much for Justin's slower-paced team to handle, which won them the set in 2 games! 😮

Finalists and their teams of the Pokémon North American International Championships in 2017

Both finalists' teams made the most of Snorlax's bulk and Gluttony Ability to Recycle its 50% healing berry, set up with Curse, and become this unstoppable force.

But Christopher was able to win this mirror with Toxic Arcanine!

This was my main strat in the GC.

Was really fun 100% of the time I pulled it off... which was 85% of the time... 🎯

And if you saw my last post, you'll see how satisfying it can get when combined with Disable. Then Cosmic Power Eternatus becomes even easier to set up. 🤩

Pokémon Birmingham Regionals Casters on Couch

Had a brilliant time casting the Pokémon Birmingham Regionals last weekend! It felt particularly incredible to cast over William's first major win so far! Massive Congrats. 👏
