This is why everyone should ignore the stories about Trump's de-escalation. The administration is *not* pivoting. It is pretending to pivot until the heat from the public and Congress dies down. Meanwhile, on the ground, it's more of the same, with slightly conciliatory language before the cameras.

This is complete bullshit, and it's a criminal administration's transparent effort to cover up a crime.
