Even though the insurance company paid to deliver your new baby, if you do not enroll them via paper work in a short window after you give birth, the insurance company won’t cover them or their stay in the hospital. You can’t enroll them until next Nov.

The doctor or anesthesiologist that treats you during a surgery in a hospital might not be covered by your insurance even though the hospital and procedure are in-network and pre-approved resulting in tens of thousands in out of pocket costs.

Nobody can tell you what your additional out of pocket costs are. Your wheelchair probably isn’t covered nor is your insulin pump. The health insurance companies sometimes own the drug distribution companies or the hospitals but still won’t cover certain things.

You are legally required to buy insurance. You can only buy insurance at certain times and for certain reasons. It will cost almost as much as your housing. Your teeth and eyes are not part of your health coverage. Healthcare is privatized but a well visit books a year out.
