I've never seen this movie either! Tell me if it is worth watching!

Reverend in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Despise misogyny, white supremacy and Christian Nationalism. He/him. Happily espoused to the Amazing She/Her. Typical Yankee Enneagram 3. Probably cycling. I've watched a movie or two.
I've never seen this movie either! Tell me if it is worth watching!
09.08.2025 02:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I watched Anora tonight after seeing that it won Best Picture last night. Iβll be honest, I really disliked it. Didnβt think it was good at all. Conclave was so much better.
04.03.2025 03:27 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Welcome you will love it here, many of us have left the horrid propaganda site for bluer pastures. With a huge #pcusa contingent here!
02.03.2025 02:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Have a very blessed Transfiguration Sunday. "Listen to him!" Hard work off the mountain awaits.
02.03.2025 00:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Great article and podcast interviews from you on this movement. The dominionist reconstructionist theobros, like Doug Wilson who Pete Hegseth follows, are furious about the NAR. They hate mystical charismatics and, in their view, heretical women preachers like Paula White Cain
01.03.2025 23:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hereβs why in my view. I would put PCA in with the southern Baptists, it seems more Baptist than reformed. Now that The Gospel Coalition seems to be more important than the PCA per se, as an umbrella org to promote CN, patriarchy and a few points of Calvinism, PCA becomes less relevant.
27.02.2025 00:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I loved The Substance, what a great theme, the fruitless quest for endless youth and immortality. Any film that shows the futility of this creatively is a plus. HOWEVER! The horror movie like goriness at the end was simply too much. I hate horror movies and it left a bad taste in my mouth.
27.02.2025 00:10 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In my view one of the greatest films ever, tightest story and script for sure, and the best catch phrases ever. I reviewed this on Best Film Ever in April 2022. My favorite catchphrase which I quite often isβ¦
25.02.2025 23:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Great review! And I've never seen much of Seinfeld, or any of The Sopranos or Veep either!
My favorite line is when Albert tells Eva near the end, "you broke my heart." I am rooting for them so much!
Watch Enough Said with James Gandolfini and Julia Louis Dreyfus, my wife and my favorite Rom Com, James Gandolfini is so endearing!
24.02.2025 01:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Great episode! And I agree with you, Conclave is my top Oscar nominated movie for this year!
22.02.2025 23:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Luke 6 preaching, part 2. Preaching be kind to the ungrateful etc., but also using Genesis 45. Summarizing 13 chapters and 22 years of the dysfunctional, sad, horrid, redemptive Joseph and his brothers story in 15 minutes or less!
#pcusa
Yay thank you! The women pictured are 5 powerhouse women who are Presbyterian pastor and leader colleagues! Sunday we had my installation service, a day of celebration like an inauguration, at my church, to celebrate my staying there long term. Woo hoo!
18.02.2025 14:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0November 5, 2024 is what is going on. Bluesky it isn't as bad as the "X"tremely horrid site owned by the guy DJT works for.
18.02.2025 03:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I went from designated pastor to permanent pastor today! #pcusa
17.02.2025 04:33 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 1@bestfilmever.bsky.social Great pod on Witness. I agree with Hermes, the crime story is BAD, but the love story ends perfectly. There is NO WAY Rachel would have left the Amish, people in such deep-rooted family & religious communities rarely leave. Besides, Isn't forbidden love sometimes the best?
16.02.2025 00:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Not crazy about Luke 6:17-26, I am doing the non-lectionary Luke 7:36-50, "the woman" who anointed Jesus' feet with her tears. She's so important! My title, "So Many Things I Wish I Knew About 'This Woman.' And One Thing I Do." She was erased by "a sinner" innuendo, but Jesus saw her. She loved him.
15.02.2025 22:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I love this. My spouse and I had our first Valentine's Day as a married couple. We were house sitting, we could not find a good restaurant. So we went to International House of Pancakes.
That is the Valentine's Day we remember most.
Voting on amendments, among other things, took place in Presbytery of Greater Atlanta.
09.02.2025 02:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Psalm 5 and Psalm 94 are in every other day rotation for me at the moment.
09.02.2025 02:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And youβll notice I mistakenly put βpsalmβ instead of βsong,β but actually, psalm works well here!
06.02.2025 14:40 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wow one of my favorite psalms from my absolute favorite band!
06.02.2025 02:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0John Updike, In the Beauty of the Lillies. Begins with a Presbyterian Pastor who loses his faith because he cannot reconcile his faith with the real world.
Fortunately, this Presbyterian Pastor has NOT lost his faith...
I am praying one in my morning liturgy each morning. I will be on Psalm 5 for a while but have several more to go.
02.02.2025 21:44 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβm honestly not sure how many people left actually do tolerate women in leadership, which gives them no reason to leave.
01.02.2025 19:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Oh oh, do I need to remove my pronouns from my Bluesky bio?
01.02.2025 19:30 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So does another new denomination form out of the PCA in the next 10 years? The denom is being overrun with resurgent southern white supremacy, misogyny, Christian Nationalism, and Doug Wilson influence. GA 2023 said the PCA wants to grow to 3,000 churches. It will be lucky if it is 1,000 by then.
01.02.2025 03:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I canβt see redeemer NYC staying PCA but I could be wrong
