I watched Anora tonight after seeing that it won Best Picture last night. I’ll be honest, I really disliked it. Didn’t think it was good at all. Conclave was so much better.

Here’s why in my view. I would put PCA in with the southern Baptists, it seems more Baptist than reformed. Now that The Gospel Coalition seems to be more important than the PCA per se, as an umbrella org to promote CN, patriarchy and a few points of Calvinism, PCA becomes less relevant.

I loved The Substance, what a great theme, the fruitless quest for endless youth and immortality. Any film that shows the futility of this creatively is a plus. HOWEVER! The horror movie like goriness at the end was simply too much. I hate horror movies and it left a bad taste in my mouth.

So does another new denomination form out of the PCA in the next 10 years? The denom is being overrun with resurgent southern white supremacy, misogyny, Christian Nationalism, and Doug Wilson influence. GA 2023 said the PCA wants to grow to 3,000 churches. It will be lucky if it is 1,000 by then.
