Mike has been at the very centre of the fight to rid the Labour Party of antisemitism. We are proud to have him as our Chair. Mazal tov, Mike!

The number of homes that were granted planning permission fell from 302,000 in 2021/22 to 236,000 in 2023/24.

Great to welcome Liz Kendall MP to Smith Sq for a wide ranging discussion with @bevcraig.bsky.social about tackling child poverty, devolving employment support and the role local councils play in getting people back to work.

For personal reasons, this debate has been difficult. I am glad this bill has passed but we must make sure palliative care and support are also improved alongside.

No matter where people sit on this, I think we can say Parliament conducted itself as it should. MPs have handled this with sensitivity and compassion.

A remarkable stat: Heidi Alexander’s appointment as Transport Secretary means the cabinet is now 100% state-educated for the first time in history.

Want to give a mention to Liam Robinson who won Leader of the Year at the LGIU awards. Under his leadership Liverpool Council has been transformed after a difficult few years. As all good leaders - he gives full credit to his team!🌹🌹🌹

Congratulations to the winners of the LGiU councillor awards which took place, yesterday evening. Selected by a cross-party judging panel, all 5 winners are Labour councillors.🌹

We are deeply saddened to hear the news that John Prescott has died. John was a staunch defender of local government & a passionate supporter of devolution. He was a great campaigner who will be missed by so many in our Party.

Our thoughts are with Pauline, Jonathan & David.
