My youngest got their dx at 18months. Ofc my little curly blonde haired, blue eyed, male child would, the criteria in the DSM was based off of kids like him 🙃 but now we have it in our genetics so we should've been believed, right? Nope!!!

I didn't get my Autism dx until September of last year and I turned 36 in October. It's been a wild ride of unmasking and healing, and it's not easy, but I'm glad we finally got it. Whatever the outcome, this doctor is thorough and accurate and will help get the accomodations that my child needs.

My oldest kiddo (15) has an appointment this afternoon for the results of their psych eval. Very excited for this and hope they can get the accommodations they need finally. At least they don't have to wait until they're almost 36 years old.

My day was a mess!! We all felt like trash, I made a gluten and dairy free Thanksgiving dinner anyway that was delicious, but I was super triggered and in a bad place. I was glad for sleep and to wake up to a new day. We've all apologized to each other and we're working through it. Life is hard 🫶
