I have been bereft about Renee Good's murder by ICE, far outside the bounds of the law. I have no comforting words. Things are very bad. And two people have been shot in Portland today -- by border agents. A thread on Trump supercharging the militarized police state & why resistance is essential:

I don’t need to be a use-of-force expert to say this plainly: she did not need to be shot.
And no fair investigation is coming from the same system that wanted this confrontation in the first place.

Honestly they should shutter the Atlantic for this travesty. This tripe should haunt them for all time.

Disobey illegal orders. A soldier’s duty is to uphold the law. If given an illegal order, the correct action is to refuse it, document it, and report it up the chain of command or to legal authorities. Protect civilians, yourself, your unit, the mission, and the nation.

Sen. Kelly responds: "If this is meant to intimidate me and other members of Congress from doing our jobs and holding this administration accountable, it won't work. I've given too much to this country to be silenced by bullies who care more about their own power than protecting the Constitution."

That MAGA Account Might Be a Troll From Pakistan How X blew up its own platform with a new location feature

I wrote about the fake account blowup on X this weekend. A genuine post-truth nightmare and proof that these companies have polluted their platforms so thoroughly and traded reality for profit that they've undermined the very idea of what the internet is supposed to be.

This is a great example of what not do to when you write a headline—especially a cover story.

This is irresponsible. He is not in science he’s against science. He’s killing people because he is so AGAINST science.
