I ran for office with the idea that we need an external authority specifically to gun for ICE and our local white nationalists.

ICE doesn't have to communicate with local LEO and often times doesn't. ICE are criminals and there have been cases where they've ran people over. Assaulting people with tear gas because they're uncomfortable is the latest instance of their crime spree.

Property damage is not the same as damage to people. Do not prop up that false equivalency.

It doesn't matter what starts it. There's a proper escalation and you don't just start tear gassing people because you're not comfortable. That can do permanent damage and it ends up effecting the whole neighborhood. Don't give them license to assault your neighbors.

4) Though I'd still love to see the accident data with those other factors controlled for even with a redesign of roadways. You certainly don't have to wait on it to make our roads better.

3) That all said, the obvious answer is to redesign roadways. Making them more cluttered and less 'open' results in drivers being more cautious. EG, driving slower. Anxious drivers tend to be better drivers as they're more attentive to the road. So the easiest solution is good old social engineering

2) That might result in an increased likelihood of an accident. So if you don't control for WHY people are driving slower than average then there's an immediate issue with your data collection and the conclusions from it.

1/ The problem is speed limits are set based upon average speed because people traveling above and below that tend to end up in crashes. THAT SAID, one of the issues I take with that is that people who go below the speed limit tend to be: Older, intoxicated, or have some other causative factor.

I’m horrified by Trump’s order to send 300 National Guard troops to Chicago. We’re only nine months into a four year term and already the president is trying to invade an American city. If you’re in the Guard, you can and should refuse these orders.

This is why things like 100% employment is avoided like crazy, because it inverses the power dynamic. If workers can quit a job at any time and switch positions, they hold all of the cards and dictate terms. A certain amount of precarity is managed so that this doesn't occur.

I think we should have a wage cap. Like no one can be paid more than 4x what the lowest paid person in the US makes at a full time spot (including benefits).

I think that's just a bare minimum. We also need free/low cost daycare. I've encountered numerous parents who struggled to balance the need to bring home a paycheck and making certain their kids are taken care of.

Beyond the need to connect up to your community and to an organization it's important that in turn similar networks form between organizations. Critical support is, well, critical in this moment. Developing parallel lanes and solidarity is necessary.
