Hard agree

The reckoning will come. It's time to choose what side of it you want to be on.

In 30 years, I want my grandchildren to not be ashamed of me. I want to know I did what I could, and then some.

I know I want to be on the right side of history. Too many people in power right now are too fearful or too egotistical or too power-hungry to make that choice.

It's up to us.

They say history is written by the winners, but the truth always comes out.

There's always a reckoning and a reset. The pendulum will swing.

But until then, everyone has to make a choice. You can choose safety or despair or tolerance or indulging. Or you can choose what's right.

There is always a reckoning.

The right thing to do is never the easiest. It can come at a high cost. It can feel hopeless. But it's not.

Because there's always a reckoning.

It's always driven by those who paid the cost, who didn't give up, who did the right thing.

It's been 25 years since I graduated, I have forgotten so many of the details, but I remember the important parts:

Why? At first because the classes were the ones available (yay large, public universities) but I stuck with it because I saw lessons from the clash of tragedy and progress, of analyzing how good intentions turned into authoritarianism, the passion of people who wanted better.

I think I'm going offline for awhile (no promises to all 30 of you...) so indulge me. I studied history in college. My concentration was post-WWII politics: Europe, China, Vietnam, the Civil Rights Movement and Latin America after 1945.
