Doodles. I want them to have playful attitudes generally. The reason for their size disparity was looking for a way to balance out their strengths.

In Galand, there exists a popular group of "heroes" that deal with threats normal cudine or nue are incapable of dealing with, like super villains or monsters. They act more like a paramilitary than a justice league, dealing with threats with impunity. They have a code that prohibits them from engaging with civilian affairs as an organization. Here we see a Nue "hero" preparing to face off against a Cudine giving him the stink eye. The other cudine feigns disinterest. The civilian cudine is an experimented martial artist master. Unfortunately, he can't help but to challenge those he views as strong, and has been itching to fight a hero for some time now. His glare was strong enough to bait the hero into an altercation, making them break their conduct code.

A lethargic weekend morning for the lover trio. Kola (cudine f/nura) is still a little groggy, so she turns the on morning programing to get those neurons firing. Dorian (nue) plays with Maka's (cudine m/hare) ears while Kola channel surfs. Maka doesn't care about tv, so he doomscrolls on his phone while eating cereal.

Overgrown yeh. Originally it was going to be a boy dwarf/elf girl thing, but i changed their designs it was all downhill from there. The way i designed them to be clones was limiting, but I ran with it and made nues to have fun drawing other body types.

Here's some more lore dumping. Since cudine and nue are based on dwarves and elves respectively, i want there to be some amount of friction between the two. In more ways than one. 😉

I always have trouble naming characters. I tend to default to something french sounding like Claire or doing like toriyama used to and naming them after objects/food. I think the best choice is not to overthink it. The fastest sprinter is called Usain Bolt after all.

Thanks! I wanted to do some mirror sheen effects. I don't know anything about light bounce so i just did a "non metallic metal" kinda like how metal cooler does it on dbz.

Trios are very common due to the unique nature of both species. There isn't any interbreeding, but they form long lasting bonds anyways.

Older sketch. A line up showing the scale between them. Ultimately, they'rejust elves and dwarves with sprinkles. Nue are hermaphrodites, and the genital slit functions as both a sheath and a vagina. Perhaps they had amphibian origins?

The idea is to have Cudine feel sort of like clones of each other, and have Nues be the ones with the body-type diversity. I'm greatly leaning into fitness or sports with this "universe" though.

Nue generally lean more into the feminine side of androgyny, especially when they get plump or thin out.

real resolution upload. I had to make tweaks to the background/character select screen from the actual game, because the sprites were a little big cause I wasn't thinking about the background at all.

Sanics I had stashed away for a while. Wanted to make another sprite before the year ended so brought them out. There's supposed to be a third member but I haven't finished his design yet. It's based on the Sonic Advance 3 character select screen.

Experimenting with sketchy/graffitti style. From left to right: Caellum, Dahlia, Keri, Camillia. Current Lore/Spoilers: Camillia: comes from a race of people who are genetically engineered to be heavy set servants and workers. Camillia was afforded freedom and influence by her surrogate family. Bering half space-dragon, she has a hoarding impulse, and her treasure is shorties with dark skin. Originally, Camillia was part of a crew set on a colonizing/terragening an empty planet that could support human-based life, but due to the way space travel functions, they arrived centuries too late, and the planet was already colonized by a more advanced ship that made landfall earlier. (it was a case of mismanagement and miscommunication). Later on, she joins a new crew that has the mission of scouting and humanitarian aid, similar to the enterprise in star trek. In her journeys, she "adopts" strays she thinks are endearing with the goal of creating what she considers to be a happy family. Caellum: Camillia is his platonic ideal and the closest thing he's had to a mother. To him, she is an example to follow in all things. Camillia teaches him everything she knows, and her standards are high. Dahlia: The newest member of the "party". Dahlia always feels a little out of place compared to the other two, but she doesn't let this bother her. She is grateful for the opportunity to go on a journey, an evolution of her former "scout" and explorer self. Keri: The smallest member of the crew, but also the oldest of the three musketeers. While the other 3 can be considered scouts or combatants, Keri plays a role more akin to a doctor or a scientist. She trains with them all the same. She is Camillia's lover and also the first person Camillia meets that wasn't originally part of her crew.

Cudine (koodeen) are a race of rabbit-like dwarves that I like using for practicing and doodling.

a duo of a hare (male) and nura (female) vampires are being depicted. They take a more barbarian/shamanic appearance, as opposed to modern pop culture interpretations. (think of forsworn in skyrim)
