After my Greenland paddling class, we all headed up the Shuang River (north Taiwan). The roughly 3 knots of current gave me some good seat time in the Waveism Kayak working the back eddies and then some time peeling out into the eddy lines off the bridge.

Saysutshun Island across from #Nanaimo for the TRAK Kayaks Owner's gathering....the TRAK 2.0 pairs perfectly with the Gearlab Outdoors IPIK 225....and of course, camping.

Next stop - Taiwan!

Well, technically my next stop is back in Canada in a couple of weeks, but I will be off to Taiwan teaching Greenland strokes and running outfitting clinics with some rolling and surf classes likely added to the schedule.

The simple reality is that he doesn't care about the math.
No immigrants and less money is a better result than the opposite because that outcome is more likely to keep them in power.

This has nothing to do with money.

Small ebb - under 4 knots - and no wind, but we still got some standing waves in Deception Pass.

And if there are waves, I am going to try to catch them!

This time, the Gearlab Outdoors Kalleq in my hands (the IPIK 225 on the deck - my new go-to for distance and touring).

Single! Love canoe strokes - do them in the kayak too!

How sick is this? Even with all the deaths, he STILL isn't sure he'd vote differently?

Most of the time I am carving custom thigh braces and lateral blocks or a Masik for better fit and control of the kayak.

This time is was a bulkhead foot brace in an NDK Romany

Stoked to be part of the organizing team for this human powered #paddlecraft race again this year.

Registration is now open!

This year the course will challenge paddlers to head out AGAINST the current (roughly a 2.5 knot ebb) before using the current to race back.

I always go for the kayak that will provide the most success during training - both taking and teaching classes.

Then I take those skills and apply them in the less-forgiving kayaks.

Skills - old ones in new conditions, new ones in old conditions.
