But pretty much anything can be compelling with the right treatment. I also didn't expect to see parallels between storyboarding and fashion!

Personally, I've felt similar fear myself, and now that I think about it, I believe a lot of it is due to lack of confidence. "The audience won't want to see X scene, so I need to hurry and show Y scene!" That's a real killer in comics.

I was unsure about taking a storyboarding class because the prerequisites sounded so high level, but I've already learned really useful tidbits! like that sometimes when filmmakers cut around a ton during a scene, it can be due to fear that it'll be too "boring" if characters are just talking.

Oh, that makes a lot of sense! Is it a bit like connecting the dots, then? That's how it often turns out for me: "how the heck do I get these ideas I want to make sense together?!"

I'm hoping this class helps me level up my visual communication skills, especially my action scenes. Fingers crossed 🤞!

My solution is to use acting to make the rabbit seem like a cocky, arrogant jerk-- basically bully the old man turtle and not even wait for an official start to the race before he hares off on his own.

"How do you get an audience to root for your protagonist's downfall?" Hard mode: he's a cute little bunny rabbit.

I'm working on storyboarding a tortoise and the hare story, but one problem is that fluffy, bouncy white rabbits are way cuter than plodding tortoises (to most people!).

I always wonder what it's like for you guys that love world building because I have so much trouble with it! From the outside it seems like a good problem to have, but maybe it's a lot rougher on creatives than it seems?

Damn, Fuga 3?! I thought Fuga 1 was pretty good, I didn't realize the series was popular enough for third installments!

Have you ever taken a long break from a skill to work on stuff that's sort of related and in theory will help your original skill but then you have to apply it and you're like ARGH, BUT HOW DO I APPLY IT

I didn't realize how far the spread had gotten. I guess as the equivalent of a salaryman, I'd never really worried about my social media presence -- nor had to.

And to be honest, I liked it that way! If I had to be a TikTok nurse or something just to have a job... man oh man.

This is a great peek behind the curtain! And a good impetus to have better sketchbook habits; I don't always remember to do it before I jump into a drawing, myself 😅
