It's about time we had a prostate cancer screening programme A prostate cancer screening programme is a way to find prostate cancer before symptoms show up.Β Soon, the UK National Screening Committee will decide if it’s now time for prostate cancer screening.

The UK National Screening Committee are set to make a decision about screening for prostate cancer later this year. Whatever they decide the status quo needs to change. You can find out more about our work to achieve this here: prostatecanceruk.org/get-involved...

And Lord Bailey:

"I had to badger my GP to have it done. I had to point out that I am of West Indian descent and that my family has had this happen before. [...] If you did not have my tenacity, that could be a death sentence."

This is critical, as Baroness Royall said:

"The system benefits men who are aware of the issue and able to interact with doctors, entrenching biological and societal inequalities. It cannot be right that it is awareness, not risk, that determines who gets tested"
