It sort of boils down to the same. If you really really believe there will be a future event that will check what you did in the past and punish you, you will plan for that event, being this working towards AI or saving money for retirement.

librephotos is terribad compared to immich, I was using gphotos before immich existing since all other solutions were pretty terrible. Immich isn't perfect but it seems to be getting there. I'm not affiliated with the team I just like the software a lot and using it for 2~ years with no issues
