Finally played it recently, if it wasnt for the Historial Society section it would be a flawless remake imo

Meanwhile in the remake, not a single word, not a single note of music, complete silence, just a stare and proceed to the endgame, absolute disservice, hearthbreaking

I have to admit the original was anticlimatic, but guess what that's the freaking point, you are killing a man not a giant monster, a couple of shots and he is down and you only end up with a dead body and the realization that you ended a human life, tragic

Now the remake decided it would be a great idea to do a Gears of War boss, you have to blast a human with and inhuman amount of bullets and the stage changes 3 times as you progress and the guy turns into a gory mess

The original fight was straight and to the point, you have to put down a friend cause he is being frantic and a danger to everyone around and a tragedy at that, it was also a revealing moment for James cause he realized he is capable of taking a human life

And I also had a bad feeling cause pretty much every boss fight was either a persecution like the Abstract Daddy or a Spectacul like with the Flesh Lip, I knew they would try to pull something like that with Edie but it was worse than I spected

Now since the start of the game I had a feeling of a noticeable change, now he is clearly and abuse victim, he is completely straight about his behavior, any hint of wrong doing is covered with cowardise, not humor no nothing, he is always ready to attack or flee

So I understand the necessity to change his character, but his whole essence was based on the ambiguity of being a goofy character with a dark side, one covering the other and heavily contrasting each other, that is the whole point of his existence

I've been in the trenches for a while now and never seen something like this before, only on amateur horror games, im not gonna say Edie is a master class in character design ( that is reserved for the entirity of the cast except for him)

I know im waay to late for the party and this might be the coldest take but I legit never saw any complains online, but god they absolutely destroyed Edie's character and his final moment was incredibly bad

So I have been playing the remake of silent hill 2 for the last couple of weeks before getting into f which I already bought, it's been a great experience until now sadly
