I mean… I don’t the government shutdown either. But the #Democrats have to understand how demoralizing it is for them to hold out for so long, enjoy electoral wins that had the GOP scared, and then just cave with nothing won.

I’ve already left messages with my Senators (Sanders & Welch) urging to not vote for anything that doesn’t include a renewal of ACA subsidies. I’ll call again tomorrow, too.

To be crystal clear: if the Dems racking up wins today had taken the breathless advice of opinion columnists and thrown immigrants and trans people to the wolves, they would have lost today. They won because they didn’t.

Buckling now would make this entire painful endeavor worthless -- pain for pain's sake, without value, without resolution. So if one of these senators is yours, yell at them not to buckle.
