Since I am responsible for the (attempted) eradication of cockroachs in my house, I know for a fact that that buddy is not one I have seen before, which meant... that it's probably related to the other roaches. But I don't think adults have that many options for mating (I don't have to tell you why)

After finding an albino cockroach today for the nth time, I couldn't help but wonder about inbreeding, because albism is hereditary and I've seen n generations of albino cockroaches already.

Today I've decided... that after getting the B2 in German... French will be my language goal 🫡

How would you treat yourself if you achieve a goal like this one?

So I decided to get back on using Anki daily, and... The amount of pending cards is overwhelming, but I've been working on it for the past week, slowly but surely.

Today's goal is German and English, today I'll be back on track. Each square represents 200 cards, and I'm almost halfway!

In Spanish we also only have oral vowels I believe, but people seem to love french tho

Ohhhh, this is so interesting!!! Now I'm interested in knowing how Spanish native speakers feel about french (although from experience I imagine that they love it)

I think to me, maybe Italian also sounds better

But in the end, I imagine that our lived experiences (with the lang) have the final word

Also, maybe society plays a big role in shaping what we consider to be a beautiful language.

This said, I don't doubt that there might be certain factors that might make a language more beautiful, maybe certain sounds make our bodies and minds react in better ways than others.

Definitely, but I think it also depends on your previous exposure to the language, maybe it's sth similar to the cross-race effect.

E.g. I didn't really liked liked the sound of mandarin and German until I started hearing them often bc I was learning them

Recently I also gave Tandem and Hello Talk a try, and very nice people so far, mainly on hello talk, on tandem people are ghosts and don't seem too interested in actually improving their languages :(

But –spoiler alert– it seems they're not... But this –this can't be stronger than I am.

No. When I was in university we had free internet but only in the laboratory, it was 8GB/week, but that was just for students ofc. Apart from that, no. Some public areas like a few parks have WiFi but it's not free. That WiFi is cheap (at least for now, who knows if they're going to target +
