I let my subscription to DnDBeyond expire last spring. I've barely even thought about the platform since then. Well, okay; I'll admit that their character builder and sheets are tops, but the competitors are certainly good enough to satisfy me.

If you were taking a university class on TTRPGs, with no pre-requisites, what would be some initial questions about that topic you would want answered?

Which stylistic conventions are indicative of TTRPG texts, and by what standards can we evaluate better and worse examples of the genre?

In decades of calming trepid GMs-to-be, I have found most of their fear was due to the idea that Story logic is a precondition of play and must guide their decisions, rather than being one of a GM's options. This fear arises from this one preference accidentally dominating too many #RPG core books.
