Whenever the “football holiday” rolls around I think about how football was a such a strange thing to me as a kid. My parents weren’t football people, we didn’t have a tv, and I didn’t live near other kids, so I never played it.
But our school valued football more than it did our actual education.

SHAKING AND ABRASED A pale mindset will never write me an iridescent biography. There are bruises lining my essence and the hands brandishing the war hammer resemble my own, shaking and abrased. I'm putting down my weapon in an act of revolution against myself and I will let myself weep away these doubts, these demoralized reveries until the holes in my heart fill with blissful rain in which I will swim like a sea otter.

My mindset has been frigging awful recently (though it's been a frequent problem for me my whole life.) I'm trying to undo the damage my own brain has done and is doing to me. It will take time and a lot of effort. So I must be patient with me.

In Missoula we had BWOs and march browns hatching on the clark fork and that’s not usually until the first warming days around the end of march.

Vervet monkeys are known to have a complex system of communication calls and have been proven to have different calls for different predators.

They’re such a fascinating fish to me since there’s so much folklore and mystery that surrounds them. They’re just a fish with so much character and personality, it makes sense that they would inspire hundreds if not thousands of years of fish stories. ❤️

I don’t know if you’ve read it, but there’s a wonderful book called the “domesday book of mammoth pike” that’s a historical collection of pike records and stories from the completely anecdotal to the most veritable organized by increasing weight.
