Reading either skyrockets for me during stress or plummets. I read over 30 in Jan, but now I can’t even pick what to read next.

It sucks to boycott liquor from Utah because anyone who drinks here is mostly not conservative and this will hurt local liberal businesses, but I still support this message as a blue dot in Utah.

Reading goal for February: Read at least 5 books by black authors. I have a shortlist started, but please recommend your favorites! All genres welcome, and I’d like to be as diverse as possible. #booksky

My daughter’s third grade teacher is a saint. She’s been teaching the kids all week about their rights as citizens and the branches of the federal government. Even sent each kid home with a copy of the constitution.

Since I’m so unplugged from news lately, I found out about the DC plane crash from our company’s pilot chat.

It’s sobering to read the anger and grief over this tragedy from pilots feeling “it could’ve been me” today.

I’ve worked in aviation since 2010. I’ve had to process the death of my pilots due to small plane crashes, but never due to a commercial crash. My first instinct on seeing the news was triple checking that it wasn’t one of “ours”

My heart goes out to those making sense of the collision today.

January reading so far - 7,735 pages (about 266 pages per day).

It’s amazing how much more time I have for reading since deleting Insta, FB, and TT.

Reread an old favorite. Whether it’s a childhood fave or a series you devoured as an adult.

I also second audiobooks. It’s a good way to read when you can’t sit still to read a book.

It’s a nice one to listen to in the car to/from work to put things back in perspective.

My husband is anxious to leave fb, so I suggested a stepped approach. Start by adding other social medias you trust. See if you can rebuild or build new communities there. Once you see it’s the people, not the platform, it is easier to leave.
