That would... make a good deal more sense than anything I had come up with. (My thoughts were more along the lines of "Do they ever open that place up for tourists on weekends who would need the signs? But surely they'd have a guide with them anyway?" ^^;; )

I've been trying to wrap my head around this since yesterday. So, okay, it's silly that it's a paper sign and it looks tacky but uuh... why is it there? Is there supposed to be a sign like that? If yes, where did it go? If no, why is there one now? I'm so confused.

Yeah... On the one hand, I always want more time (and energy), but on the other, there's also always something to look forward to.

The only positive thing I'd ever heard about act 3 was that the boss battles are fun & it's baffling. Following up on so many earlier plot threads is so fun! Development fought for in act 2 echoes through act 3, still meaningful. New plot beats connect the world even more. *And* the battles are fun!

You know what? I think act 3 might be my favourite part of Dragon Quest XI.

(For many reasons, but one small one is that the characters often have more interesting things to say in party chat now that they don't have to give you 284 variations of "go here to continue the plot" in every location.)

Yeah same. Statements like "It has no plot," "Balthier is the only good character," "The game just plays itself," and "It's just a Star Wars rip-off" were extremely common; I think the remaster causing people to revisit is was when things turned around for it. Being a XII fan was weird for a while.

Notably, this is an international thing, too! My mum lives in a pretty small village in Germany and even here, there are several stores taking part. She's been kind of obsessed with her "surprise bags" from a nearby bakery. So it might be more worth checking if it's in your area than you think!

Yep, first time. I'm not usually a big post-game person but XI at the point I'm at now absolutely feels incomplete. I'm definitely going to play more; the question is just if I take a break first or not.

I'm happy to report that XI's German translation is immensly charming and I had a great time with "Rionaldo" and "Bodo" but as usual, I wish we could get direct jp->ger translations instead of the En translation's leftovers.

And there's that credit roll in DQ11 after 77 leisurely hours! Now, do I want to dive into the "postgame" (which feels necessary with all the loose ends, Tickington etc.) immediately, or do I pick DQ3HD2D up again like I said I would? Hmmm...

That's how I "played" the game for my 1st year of it, I just read the story. But then I got a little obsessed with the Evokers and got into the gameplay side for them.

I'm actually dreadfully behind on the main plot and recently started a reread of act 1. I'm into a lot of the story events though.

It's also a good reminder to keep an eye on how I use my one "numbers go up" game (granblue), because there are ways in which short bursts of its grind can be relaxing to me or help me process some stuff, but too much of it, yeah, starts feeling empty. (It helps that its story remains meaningful.)

I'm mostly relieved; I've still only seen bits & pieces of various shows but it's just such a... cultural institution, I guess? and so charming that I want it to stick around.

Aren't they just rebranding/retiring the super sentai name specifically while the shows keep going?

(3 is actually my least favourite (gasp!), but I liked what I've played of last year's remake. Where did I leave off? Was it really the pyramid?)

DQ2 is by far my favourite of the original Roto/Erdrick trilogy, so I'm happy to hear people speak so highly of its HD2D version. It'll be quite a while until I can get around to it (I'm in the middle of XI and would like to go back to III's remake first) but it sounds like it'll be a treat. :D

The way I understand it is that they're hiding behind that little speech bubble icon. Yours seem to be set to off though (which you can change in the settings of that site). Why they're called "chats" though, I don't know. :/
