It's already tough for me to justify a $60-70 AAA game that lasts 20 hours vs an indie game that costs $25 (or less) and lasts 200+ hours.

Great sequel to the original. It's not an evolution of the formula as much as a bigger version of the original, but I'm very down for that.

I don't like the story as much as the original, but the art, music, and gameplay are better. Really like the new MP and tarot system.

My silksong strat was to jump to the top of the screen to mid air heal, most bosses don't try to get you up there even if you mistime a bit.

...except Karmelita, swear to god she had uncanny timing with the projectiles to snipe me out of heal.

Yeah, most of the bosses in HK are too simple. There's a few cool ones like Nightmare King Grimm and True Vessel, but that quality is like the average Silksong boss.

I also think healing is pretty busted in HK. I think it's smart how they stealth nerfed it by making you commit to 3 heals.

Where's a good time loop when you need one?

It is REALLY long and exhausting for a metroidvania. I do like how hollow knight feels breezy and fast paced, much like Super Metroid and SotN.

Silksong is more of an *ordeal*, which is cool by me, but daunting to consider a replay for sure.

Very good game, really enjoy the movement, the challenging bosses, the various tools. Really great soundtrack, especially love "Lace" and "Choral Chambers".

I loved the first Hollow Knight, and this one is also great in a different way.

Yeah I do get walked into a lot in this game lol. Just a boss repositioning for an attack and ends up overlapping my hitbox. Especially punishing when you're trying to heal and now you've lost 2 health AND all mana AND now you're in bad position with barely any damage i-frames.

Haven't finished yet, but so far I'd agree. Pretty nice challenge, outside of some obnoxious runbacks and a couple overtuned encounters.

I hope they don't nerf the bosses much. If anything just throw in an easy mode that doubles your health and makes all attacks deal 1 damage and call it a day.

I feel similar about this as I did about TotK and Echoes of Wisdom: Cool mechanics, but the game built around those mechanics is just ok.

Good production values, fun to mess with. Really boring characters and story. Probably don't buy a switch 2 for this.
