This! Language and social norms have evolved, but let’s be honest about where we were in the 2000s and in some ways, where we still are today.

You are not wrong. But, I think that is the honest truth. And that’s hard to sit with. She wanted Top Model to be successful and this is the garbage that you, I, and all of us wanted on television. It’s not about blame, it’s about telling the full truth and we’re a part of that.

Advocates want legal action after man shot and killed by off-duty ICE agent in Northridge Advocates argue that the off-duty ICE agent wasn't trained for the situation and should have called police and waited for them to arrive.

Rest in power to Keith Porter who was murdered by an ICE agent in Los Angeles.

It’s terrible that his name is just now being circulated, but now that it is, continue to say his name.

What I love is that Ms. Adams doesn’t leave it at the easy “who am I to judge?” Or “let he who is without sin..”

She goes a step further by invoking God’s love for who they created. “Who am I to harm who God loves?”

That feels affirming. Not like love or support by default. Rather, affirmative.

It’s sad how much the church/religion/Christianity has robbed people living in their truths and having authentic happiness.

The Donnie McClurkin case, if the allegations are true, reflects the harm that can come from suppressing your authentic self and the lasting effects of abuse. It’s a painful, cynical reality.

Until the church has honest conversations about sexuality, faith, and spirituality, this cycle continues.

I’m still navigating my response, but right now I don’t think one comes before the other. They’re intertwined, and my experience lives at the intersection of both.

I need a deep embracing hug. I need one last big exhale before going back to work next week.

This..... Sometimes it's ok to look, shake your head, and continue scrolling. We can't talk about the behavior that's done on Twitter only to bring it over here. You also never know a person's mindset during situations like this with them being beat down by everyone. Just block and keep it moving.

Desirability politics can really fuck people up. When people internalize being unlovable or invisible, attention can feel like survival. Not excusing it by any means but I don’t think it’s that far fetched.

I made a profile here as an act of self-liberation, choosing to step into my queerness instead of shrinking around it.

After years of self-loathing, internalized undesirability, and fear of being othered, I’m hoping this feels like reclamation.
