The current phase of strong W and SW winds are delivering some incredible seabird records in Cornwall.
53k Great Shearwater off Lizard (9th Sep)
Three Fea’s type Petrel off Pendeen and Porthgwarra (10th).
Record Black Terns inc flock of 85 off Cape (8th)
South Polar Skua off Pendeen (11th).
Porthgwarra totals 6-1 pm (31st Aug)

Two early morning starts at Pendeen Watch paid dividends. Highlights included over 30 Sabine’s Gulls, 20 Grey Phalaropes, ad Pomarine Skua and Long-tailed Skua, 20+ Arctic Skua, 100+ Cory’s Shearwater and my 69th Wilson’s Petrel of the year!
