Gerade Kernenergie schafft wenig Abhängigkeiten im Vergleich zu anderen Energiequellen. Uran hat eine sehr hohe Energiedichte und kann auf kleinem Raum gelagert werden. Auf kleinem Raum kann Kernbrennstoff, der für viele Jahre reicht, gelagert werden. Bezug aus Kanada oder Australien ist möglich
