I felt that Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is a diet version of the game that never really takes the training wheels off, more concerned about the destination than the journey. Easy to drink, but doesn't taste as good.

the remaster experience (especially on PC) is really dire for that one. its playable and still really good, but if you play for too long in one session the game stops being able to load the prerendered cutscenes in time and you get stuck with blank screens during stuff like operation Mi'hen :/
