Another busy litter pick at Acocks Green Recreation Ground with several of the fantastic volunteers who help look after Acocks Green Recreation Ground. It's heavily used at this time of year and needs regular picking.

It was an honour to propose Birmingham's new Lord Mayor at today's @bhamcitycouncil.bsky.social AGM. Cllr Zafar Iqbal has now taken over from Cllr Ken Wood, who had a fantastic year as Brum's First Citizen.

Attended a packed Hall Green Library this afternoon for the Friends of Hall Green Library Ramadan and Save Our Saturdays Fayre. The Friends of Hall Green Library are spot on when they say our libraries need to stay open full time - 3 days isn't enough! #SaveOurLibraries

Lovely walk this morning along Pool Farm Road, Acocks Green, leafletting residents. Have reported the seemingly obligatory fly-tipped mattress and fridge, and picked up plenty more casework from residents.

Birmingham City Council - Keep Kings Heath Park Plant Nursery open
Can you spare a minute to help this campaign?
Please support this petition. Closing Kings Heath Park Plant Nursery would save little and do huge damage to the local park and wider green communities. Instead the Council should focus on making it break even which is clearly possible. chng.it/M7ZVQ6tZcx

These are the bins at the former Acocks Green Neighbourhood Office, now an HMO. Not collected by BCC as they were overfilled and now with a large volume of side waste. And a fly-tipped fridge on the pavement to complete the scene. I have reported them.

A frosty first litter pick of 2025. Good to get Acocks Green Recreation Ground clear of litter before the really bad weather arrives!
