2025 β Ukraine has driven out the Russians and a soldier with PTSD joins a woman identifying bodies left across the scorched landscape. A dystopian vision, yet reality turned out even worse. Shot like an art film it's haunting imagery stayed with me long after. #filmsky

Swedish sci-fi where a luxury space liner veers off course, turning into a drifting existential prison. Based on a an allegorical poem, itβs a dark, hypnotic meditation on detatchment from nature, and the cosmic indifference of the void. #filmsky

A prehistoric adventure with no spoken dialogue, just grunts and gestures. Not as tacky as other caveman filmsβit's raw, immersive, and unique. Also, it proposes that the missionary position is the foundation for the whole project of civilization.

Can you name a film about the Thirty Yearsβ War? The Last Valley is a great one. A bleak, overlooked epic where war and its ideologies descend upon a once-pristine village. Stunning cinematography and rich moral complexity. #filmsky

Before Danny Elfman became a Hollywood darling, he and his brother made this outrageous, offensive, and bizarre cartoonish musical. Think Alice in Wonderland with sex and drugs. It deserves as big a following as Rocky Horror, I think. #filmsky

Itβs like a Terminator prequel. A military AI becomes sentient and seizes control of nukes. Scary computers were big post-2001, and I'm sure weβre due for a renaissance. A fascinating film with bold concepts for its time. #filmsky
