thou a big issue is that the primary source for Norse mythology is that there are only two, and both are written over a hundred years after the christianization of Scandinavia, add to that, interest in Norse mythos didn't become popular till the National Romanticism in the 1860s.

generally Icelandic people tend to be more ontop of Norse mythos, given that Icelandic language has changed the least since the 10th century.

but generally in mainland Scandinavia, its more-so cultural osmosis, people know the popular names, a few events like the creation myth and Ragnarok.
