I dunno about peeps saying they attended the white supremacist organised reclaim australia rallies (or whatever it was called) because they have totally not racist concerns about immigration… Like, I really like trivia nights, but if there was a trivia night being organised and run by white supremacists, and they had a white supremacist mc, white supremacy themed trivia questions and they were handing out white supremacist propaganda, I probably wouldn’t go.

And if you’re not convinced, please tell me how you think the national conversation and related media coverage is going to roll out in the lead up to Jan 26, 2026… do you think that is going to show that Australia is ‘fed up’ with division and hatred and culture wars?

And don’t get me wrong, I’m happy they lost, but I don’t see this election changing the reality that Australia still has a huge issue with racism and every other form of bigotry.

They didn’t like Dutton’s particular brand of these items perhaps, but all of them are still in great demand in this country. They will still sell newspapers, drive popular sentiment, influence policy etc.

So why am I seeing the same thing happen now with people proudly proclaiming “Australia voted no to division and hatred and the culture wars etc”? That’s the same hyperbole. Australia didn’t vote no to division or hatred or the culture wars. Australia loves division and hatred and the culture wars.

Remember when the referendum failed and certain conservatives were saying “we voted no to [insert anything and everything Indigenous]” and we were all, “well no, Australia voted no to very specific constitutional change”?

I don't particularly care who the Liberal Party have as their next leader, but I'm kinda hoping it's Angus Taylor purely to see people replying, anytime he says anything, with 'Fantastic. Great move. Well done Angus'...
