We may not see the one AI to rule them all, as OpenAI hopes, but a fragmentation of the market as people decide which AI does what job best, and a future where developers choose them in the same way they choose a development framework.

We really need some type of federal action to move us to IPV6, no reason to keep dragging feet on it.

I tried building an intranet page for some family photos and host it on a web server using our NAS all by using the new Chat GOT 5 model, a project I’ve wanted to do for some time. Chat got me what I needed, but really gave me an over the top website template. I understand the criticism of it.

With AI there is no more real value to expertise hoarding when everyone has access do it. I do think this means people will need to build a broader knowledge and will benefit the generalists out there who use AI to deep dive specific problems.

As AI transforms education, it will become impossible to not use it in your learning because the workload for students will just ramp up accordingly. If you can summarize documents to write a paper, or find the excerpt or quote you need to support your idea, the papers will just get more numerous.

Linked-In is encouraging and profiting on the rampant fake online job postings, so don’t count on them to fix it. It improves engagement for them. There is no reason to be on that platform other than to network for future opportunities or job search, and they go hand in hand.

Companies posting fake online job adds, especially those trying to create a veneer of growth by showing they’re hiring (when they’re not) is definitely an unethical business practice, and if drawing in unreciprocated interest from job seekers and their time is most likely exploitation.

Imagine an AI that takes your question prompt but instead of returning text returns a how-to video- like tell me how to make a good cheeseburger and it spins up a fake YT like instructional video showing you the steps from patty making to searing to getting the cheese to melt the right way.

My next five week MBA class starts next week but I’m starting on it today. I’m not sure how someone can get a good understating of Management and Financial Accounting in that time but I’m going to attempt to do it regardless.

AI is ushering in the “Post Search” era, collapsing the search traffic for many online publications. What happens when human written sources disappear? You’d have to assume a swing back when AI content is outdated/irrelevant because human sources are gone and people crave contemporary information.

Ran across my first experience with AI in an Apple app. Evidently iOS will now sort your grocery list into generic shopping categories, which is helpful and something I do anyway, just manually, in order to help me not have to backtrack in the grocery store. Actually that’s kind of helpful.

I am impressed with the Meta 3 Quest. The VR feature is fun. Everything about it seems like a good value. Glad we went with the better model in their line. Curious if Vision Pro would’ve succeeded if priced better. You can get 8 Quests for just one Vision Pro, no wonder market rejected it.

One of the benefits of the music streaming era is that artists can’t half ass tour like they’re the Beatles, they have to actually play live for their income. I’ve seen some favorite groups recently that I missed from my youth because they rarely came to my city back then. Win for me.

Content delivery providers should absolutely be able to charge a licensing fee to AI companies to train their data and AI companies should pay it and this should be universal for anyone putting content on the internet and not just for a handful of large services like the NYT or Reddit.

I am curious if IP aka Intellectual Property law firms are seeing an uptick or expecting one related to content producers suing AI on copyrighted material breaches. Seems like a potential source of revenue with specialists combing AI to find opportunities.

AI killing internet traffic to websites is going to cause an abrupt shift away from advertising based income streams to subscription based models because there aren’t many alternatives to it. Search driven traffic is falling off the cliff.

I feel like I should know more about Model Context Protocol (MCP) and what that means. You see it mentioned everywhere but not a lot of what it does, how to utilize it, at least for the everyday person working along the very fringes of AI but recognize they need to find ways to harness it.
